Notes from Sunday Worship

Sunday School – Subject: Ever-Persevering Petitions – Teacher: Larry Rohrer

How long do we pray? How long do we persevere?

As long as we have breath.

Persevere means we never give up.

Because of Jesus we have light and hope.

How many times did Jesus pray – as recorded in the Bible? 25

The Bible records a total of 650 prayers – with 450 answered prayers.

Means not all prayers are answered – sometimes God says: “Yes”. Sometimes He says, “No”. Sometimes He says, “Wait.”

Genesis 4:26 is the first recorded prayer.

The greatest tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer – but unoffered prayer. F.B. Myer

When we have peace with God and others – any answer to prayer is okay – yes, no or wait.

Worship Service – Minister: Ron Copenhaver – Subject: John 13:1-38

John 13 teaches us who God is and many attributes of God.

We are on a journey – each learning the attributes of God.

Train your mind to focus on God’s attributes.

“Today” in John 13 is Thursday – the day before the crucifixion of Jesus.

Look for attributes of God in Chapter 13:

He loved His own

The God of the universe loves you.

No other god loves you to the end.

No other god can give life.

Can we grasp the truth that the true God loves us to the end.

Our Father God gave Jesus all things

Everything is at the fingertips of Jesus.

Jesus knows all things.

As God’s Son, His rank is high in the universe.

Jesus kneels and serves

He washed the disciples feet

He became a servant

Our ways must bow to God.

Jesus is our example in love and service.
