Notes from Sunday Worship

Sunday Morning, February 16

Sunday school – Subject: Kingdom-Seeking Prayer

Matthew 6:9-15 – The Lord’s Prayer

Teacher: Dustan Rohrer

Prayer is an important and vital part of our walk with the Lord.

Prayer is not like room service in a motel – “bring me this” – “take this away”.

We can come boldly to “Our Father”.

Think about it. We have access to the throne room of Heaven!

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done is asking for God’s will. Prayer is surrender to God and His will.

Forgive us – as we forgive.

Lead us not into temptation.

We self-destruct when we do not follow God.

Our battles are not physical – but spiritual.

Don’t make prayer too complicated.

Worship Service – John 12:20-50

Minister: Dustin Martin

Why is it so difficult to put our wants aside for God’s glory?

Too many people are concerned about their own glory rather that glorifying God.

Jesus did not come to be a celebrity – He came to glorify God.

When Jesus glorified His Father, He in turn was glorified.

Jesus sacrificed His will for the will of His Father.

He taught obedience by example.

How or what can we do to glorify God? How can we get it right?

Know that life is not about me.

Follow the perfect example – Jesus.

How are we truly glorified? By being conformed to the image of Jesus.

Do people feel and see Jesus when they are with us?

Don’t miss opportunities to glorify God – rather than being focused on glorifying “me”.
