Our Journey to Bryce Canyon – Day 6 – Part One

Tuesday, September 3 – Grand Junction, Colorado to Bryce Canyon, Utah

I have so many pictures from Day 6 that I decided to divide this post into two parts.

It was about 7:15 am when we left the motel in Grand Junction.

We crossed into Utah at 7:43 am with 2,415 miles on our trip odometer.

Cerwin is enjoying the speed limit. 🙂

He also enjoys seeing trucks pulling three trailers. We don’t see that in Pennsylvania.

We were pleased to see this nice antelope just off the road.

He got up to feed shortly after we stopped, but didn’t seemed bothered by us.

When I look at this dry, rocky soil, I wonder how anything grows and even survives.

On the road again after the scenic stop

The change in view doesn’t seem to stop.

How many shapes and colors can there be in the Utah landscape?

Then there was white!

There was so much sky – and clouds just hanging out for the morning. I even thought I saw a lion in this cloud.

Is that a whale?

More mountain and hillside colors

After seeing all the dessert and barren rocks this morning, I thought about a verse in the Bible where God says a time will come when the desert will bloom.

Deserts will bloom everywhere and sing joyful songs. They will be as majestic as Mount Lebanon, as glorious as Mount Carmel or Sharon Valley. Everyone will see the wonderful splendor of the Lord our God. Isaiah 35:2 CEV
