Birthday Party

Sunday, August 25

We could smell that something delicious was being grilled when we arrived at Jere and Kristen’s house. This was Ian’s choice of meat.

Their chickens are doing a good job of providing eggs.

Ian’s birthday balloon.

I needed a new birthday photo for Ian, so did a few settings to try for the best lighting.

The table was decorated with cars because buying a car is high on his priority list as Jared will turn 16 next year and will get the family jeep for a few years.

The next balloon table setting was for Deb whose birthday was happening in two days.

The third balloon was for Kristen’s brother Jeff whose birthday was the next day.

Jeff (left) and his wife, Brenda, talking to Jere.

Deb could hardly wait to give this game to Kristen as Ephrata is Kristen’s hometown. Kristen was very pleased.

Time for lunch. Jared, Ian, Austin and Jana

Corn Fritters, steak, potatoes, green beans and garlic bread.

Lighting Ian’s cake

Ian became suspicious when the candles started sparkling and said, “I think these will keep relighting themselves.”

They did keep relighting. šŸ™‚

He was finally down to one and quickly put it out.

Dessert

Cantaloupe

Apple pie

Peach pie

Ground cherry pie

Birthday cake

Jeff and Brenda gave him a car since they knew he needed one. šŸ™‚

Kristen, Roy, and Deb visiting while Cerwin and Ian took Roy’s pickup truck to our house so Ian would know what to do in the yard when we were on our road trip.

Now Ian thinks he may like a truck.
