Notes from Sunday Worship

Sunday school – The New Covenant’s Sacrifice

Teacher – Gary Stevens

The Old Covenant was a “bloody” covenant.

Blood flows through the Bible like it flows through our veins.

Without blood the solution to our salvation is dead.

To see blood – someone or something must be injured.

Praise God for the blood of Christ. It is our assurance of salvation.

Jesus probably had about eleven pints of blood – yet it was enough to cleanse the entire population of 102,470,690,000+ people who lived since the beginning of time.

Church – A Father’s Legacy – 3 John

Preacher – Dustin Martin

What does a father leave behind when he is gone?

Men, be encouraged – Satan wants us to be discouraged.

If you are alive, your legacy is not finished.

Our Father God wants us, His followers to:

  • Prosper – especially spiritually
  • Be faithful to the truth.
  • Be great in charity.
  • Be dependable
  • Lead by example

You are in control of your life when you give control of your life to God.

The other day Dustin was in a restaurant and could see a small child seated at a table, but his view hindered him from seeing the father who was with him. Periodically he could see hands helping the little boy with his napkin and food. As Dustin watched, he thought, “God’s hands are helping us like that. Even when we are not aware of Him.”

Fathers

  • Pray and read the Bible with your children
  • Ask God for help and wisdom
  • Forgive wrongs that have been done to you.
  • Love unconditionally – never breaking your relationships with your children.
  • Invest in their lives
  • Set the tone of your family

Men and boys, if you are not a father

  • Minister to the fatherless.
  • Mentor someone
  • Teach a Sunday school class
  • Be a coach

None of us measure up or are a perfect father.

Your legacy does not have to end with your failures.

Press on – toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14
