Cleaning Our Porch

This is how I spent Friday morning – the last day of May.

I thought our porch looked bad last year, and this spring decided something had to be done. I looked up “best outdoor cleaner” on Amazon. This is one of the products that showed up, so I decided to try it. The box included 4 one-gallon containers.

I chose to start early Friday morning when the porch and rails were damp from the nighttime and morning dew – and before the heat of the day. It is also when I am in a high energy mood. 🙂 The rails were the easiest because the surface is smooth. The grime wiped off easily.

The floor took about an hour and a half. I poured the contents of the entire gallon in a bucket and added another gallon of water – recommended – then applied the mixture with a mop and waited 15 minutes. Then I used a strong broom to “scrub” it. I did that several times until most of the dirt and grim was gone. I had to apply it another time to the dirtiest spots. Our porch is small, so one gallon reached quite easily. I used the extra on some of the patio stones that were extra dirty.

Cerwin was impressed and wants to try the product on the siding in back of the house where moss tends to grow because it is in shade all day.

I can’t stop looking at our clean porch. I purposed to use this product on a regular basis so the job will be easier.
