A Drop-in for Friends of Charlie and Hazel

Sunday, November 4

Charlie (right) recently discovered that he has several brain tumors and nodules on his lungs – following a right side seizure. After hearing about it, I emailed him. He called me in return because he is beginning to lose some of his motor skills, especially on his right side, thus calling was easier than typing an email. During our conversation he asked if I knew of someone who would host a get-together with some of his old trucker friends. He said he needs some trucker hugs.

I assured him that I would be glad to do that. 🙂

For some reason the women ended up in one end of our garage and the men in the other. I think the discussions were probably the reason as these men tend to talk truck and the women discussed things not related to trucks. 🙂

Preparing for supper

But first a group photo with Charlie and Hazel (Alvin and Anna Mae left just before we decided to do a group shot.)

Left to right: Cerwin and me, Peg and Bunny O’Hare, Arlene and Earl Sauder, Jane and Clyde Stoltzfus, Cindy and Dick Weaver, Rachel and Glenn Fahnestock (back), Don and Alta Hollinger, Sam Rittenhouse, Marv and Fay Sauder, Gene Gehman (Rose was in Iowa with grandchildren), and Dotty and Gene Seitz. Oh, and Susie the dog – who belongs to Sam Rittenhouse.

Preparing to pray for Charlie and Hazel – especially Charlie’s health.

Supper

It was good to see everyone and have an afternoon together.

Please keep Charlie and Hazel in your prayers as they walk together through this – trusting God for strength.
