Wednesday, February 5 It was a bit late (like half a year) but we finally got together on dates – just in time for her half birthday. 🙂 She chose T.J. Rockwell’s. Rhino Fries are a must when taking a grandchild to this restaurant. The menu description says: A Rockwell’s tradition! Put on your seatbelt for this giant […]

A Busy Day

| Family, Friends

Wednesday, January 29 Our day started by taking a large TFC mailing to the Lititz Post Office. I was delighted to see the mules (Amish farm) as we traveled from the post office to where Cerwin’s mother lives. I haven’t seen them since last fall. Arriving at the retirement community. My view of a sitting area […]

Hershey Christmas – The Meal

| Christmas, Family

My siblings and I take care of the core part of the meal – set up, drink, meat, and paper supplies while the next two generations bring finger foods and things they like to have at this get-together. Mocha punch is popular here. The meat included pulled pork and beef brisket. Homemade rolls by Amy. I like […]

Thursday, December 12 was a busy day in the office as I had many things to do. I only had two days in my office this week – we got home from Hudson, Wisconsin, on Tuesday evening and were heading to Burlington, Ontario, on Friday morning for a memorial service for our TFC friend Audrey Scott. Imagine our delight when […]

I was pleased when Chris chose El Serrano’s for her birthday, because we had never been there – and I love trying new restaurants. Tuesday Evening, October 29 The above photo and next paragraph are from the internet – just to give you an idea of where we ate: It’s authentic Latino American cuisine, and […]

How would you like to come home to this? This is what our kitchen counter looked like when we got home from the TFC Dinner Concert at Manor Church on Saturday night, October 26. I immediately knew that our granddaughter Abby had been here. The home canned grape juice concentrate was our anniversary gift from […]

Bake Sale Benefit by York/Adams Chapter of TFC

We were up really early on Saturday morning, October 12 – like 3:30 a.m. – so we could leave the house by 4:30, be at the TFC office by 5:00, and leave with International Chapel #2 shortly thereafter.  It was still dark when we arrived at Menges Diner at 6:00 a.m. – where the prayer breakfast and bake sale […]

West Hall Activities Part 1 ~ Brethren Disaster Relief Auction

West Hall is a popular stopping place for those who attend the Disaster Relief Auction. There are lots of homemade goodies. Cerwin asked me to bring a pie home – and there were many choices.    I bought a raisin crumb pie. It was delicious. This young man has displayed his hot pads in West Hall […]

This is just a sampling of the food that was available at the BDRA last weekend. Some food items were available throughout both days, while other meals were at set times.    I received permission to go inside the sausage sandwich stand.   It looked and smelled delicious.  As I approached the French fry stand, I noticed my […]

Lunch at RD’s

| Family, Food

There were multiple reasons why we and Jere and Kristen’s family met Roy and Deb at RD’s for lunch after church on Sunday. 1. It is a new restaurant in Roy and Deb’s area. 2. I had some things that needed to be returned to Deb (they live about an hour away from us). 3. Deb twisted her knee […]

Roy and Deb were our chauffeurs to The Loft in downtown Lancaster. (Jere and Kristen took us home.) After finding a parking spot, we walked toward the restaurant and were surprised by the clip clop of horses behind us and turned around to see two city policemen. Waiting to go upstairs to the second floor dining area. […]

Lunch With Roy & Deb

We had reservations at Lily’s for supper on Friday – with Roy and Deb – for his birthday which was July 7 – but when they came to Joanne’s funeral (10:30 a.m.), we changed the reservations to lunch. It didn’t seem wise for them to go home (one hour) and come back (another hour) for supper, and lunch worked for both […]

Birthday Party for Nathan

We were invited to Jeff and Chris’ house on Father’s Day evening for Nathan’s 20th Birthday party. I have enjoyed watching Nathan grow into a godly young man. Cerwin’s Father’s Day included cards, hugs, phone calls, and brunch with Roy and Deb. My husband, Cerwin, and I have four children, seventeen grandchildren (2 are in Heaven), and 19 great grandchildren. Cerwin spent 40 years as a truck driver for Ferrellgas. We are both retired from serving with Transport For Christ - a ministry to truck drivers - and love our life in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
