I first noticed her on the sunny side of the birdfeeder she had chosen. Because the feeder wire was a bit of obstruction I went to the window on her shady side. I see the Sapsuckers now and then, but not as often as the Downies. ~~~ Something to Ponder ~~~
One of the blessings of living to be old is that our children are now old enough to comfortably share their love for us. 🙂 I got this photo on my cell phone today – from our oldest son, Jeff.
It was fun to have time with Cerwin’s brother and sisters last Saturday (February 22), which happened because Bob and Doris were here for a very short time as they traveled from northern Minnesota to Harrisonburg, VA, where Bob would be preaching at a week-long series of meetings. We chose Centerville Diner 2 (formerly Country […]
We started the day by spending the morning (8:30 to 11:00 am) at Blessings of Hope (Leola Warehouse) sorting green beans and putting them in bags. It took a bit of time to look through the beans and discard those that were wimpy or not what we would want to keep. Cerwin and I processed […]
A small waning crescent moon was quietly observing the pretty sunrise on Saturday morning. ~~~ Something to Ponder ~~~
She posed for me so nicely the other day. I know it is a female because there is gray between the red on her head and the red near her beak. The male has a solid red head. ~~~ Something to Ponder ~~~
~~~ Thursday, February 20 ~~~ We didn’t get a lot of snow, but it looked pretty for a while.
I found this pretty card in our church mailbox last Sunday, February 16. I love this blessing. I am still waiting for an idea on how to use this $10.00. I have a sticker note on it, so it doesn’t get used for gas or taxes. 🙂
The ordinary and often pesky starlings looked rather pretty the other day in the late morning sunshine. They were introduced to New York City in1890 – from Europe. Since then, they have spread across North America. They usually come to our feeders in groups and are noisy and scrappy. I personally think they look rather […]
~~~ Sunday, February 16 ~~~ The Amish buggies and horses looked pretty on Sunday morning following Saturday’s snow. There weren’t many buggies this week, probably only the two Amish families who live on our road and maybe another one or two. I expect their church meeting was at a home farther west from our house. […]
A starling fight in our colander feeder. A stare down with a bluebird I love when our bluebirds are busy at the feeders. A hungry female Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
