A Sampling of Spring Flowers in Our Yard
Forsythia and Daffodils I especially like when these daffodils bloom. They came from a bank of daffodils that my dad planted after he and my stepmother moved off the farm. After Daddy died, she asked if I wanted some of the bulbs. Of course I did. I am glad God created springtime!

Applying Fertilizer and Crabgrass Killer to Our Lawn
Thursday, March 26 Cerwin recently bought several bags of fertilizer and crabgrass killer to put on our lawn. His consultant said the right time to do it is when the forsythia are blooming… …and they are blooming. I took these photos in our neighbor’s yard. I barely had to leave our yard to get the […]
Working at Blessings of Hope
Wednesday, March 25 – Leola Warehouse This time we were preparing strawberries for freezing. People at a few other tables were washing and sorting the strawberries. We topped and quartered them. Our great grandson Anthony enjoyed being along, but I don’t think this was one of his favorite things to do here. He likes packaging […]
New Birdfeeder
Several days ago, I weeded a patio flowerbed and rearranged some birdfeeders. I noticed that two feeders looked a bit forlorn and needed to be replaced. On Saturday (when going to the play – a previous post) we took some items to Jubilee (secondhand store) and still had fifteen minutes before picking up Inge at […]

Celebrating a Friend’s Eighty-sixth Birthday
Saturday morning, March 12 We had fun taking our friends Gene and Cookie to Kountry Kitchen Restaurant for Gene’s 86th birthday brunch. The staff there know him, so when I told them we were celebrating his birthday, they brought his pancake with a lit candle and began singing Happy Birthday to him as they arrived. […]
Interesting Layer of Fog in Our Valley
Saturday, March 21 When I looked out the window about sunrise, I saw an interesting layer of fog. Notice the fog as I pan across the landscape – from east to west. It is amazing that every morning is new and different as I look at the landscape.
Snow Flurry, Wind, and a Cardinal
Tuesday, March 17 We were surprised to wake up to a light snow flurry that looked like it had sprinkled flour over the landscape. Wind was also part of the day – strong enough to blow our recyclable bin across the yard. At least the garbage truck had already picked up the contents that had […]
Pastel Sky
This was the same morning and at the same time as when I took the sunrise photo with a bird in it. A previous post. The sky was just as beautiful when I faced south instead of east.
This Beautiful Sunrise Included a Bird
Sunday Morning, March 15 It was probably one of the birds I heard singing that morning.
Another Secret Sister Gift
I found these in our church mailbox on Sunday. This note gave me two more hints. The first hint was: I have multiple children. There are pretty many women at church that fit that category. The first new hint, I love to take pictures, reduces my list a bit. 🙂 I can think of a […]
Enjoying Suet
Maybe this robin couldn’t find worms in our cold frozen ground on this windy March day. I purposefully keep the suet feeder close to a kitchen window, so I get a good view of the birds who enjoy it.
