I Finished Stitching the Truck
You may remember that I showed this partially stitched truck to you earlier this year. It is a really neat old Chevy owned by Jeff and Chris. I finished it a few weeks ago and took it to AC Moore for framing. It looks nice in our living room.
Birds That Got My Attention this Week
Catbird House Finch This wren was singing at the top of its lungs. A mourning dove was trying to figure out what happened to the ground feeder. I expect a squirrel or raccoon knocked it down. Female cardinal enjoying birdseed in the warm, morning sunshine A blue jay getting a drink. See ya later
Mother’s Day 2019
Sunday, May 12 Diane, Jere, Deb, and Jeff Mother’s Day is always a mixture of emotions for me – love for our four children and what a delight it is to be their mother and go through life with them and their spouses – their children and grandchildren. It also makes me feel inadequate as […]
Lancaster Make A Wish ~ Part 1
Sunday, May 12 Another rainy Make-A-Wish Day Waiting in line to enter Burle Industries. Notice the trucks ahead of us. The trucks behind us – in the rear-view mirror. We got set up during a period when the rain was just a drizzle. The organizers give us a great spot. Notice the fire company man-lift […]
TFC ~ Susquehanna Chapter Banquet
Saturday Evening, May 11 We enjoyed a nice two-hour drive to Ric-Mar Restaurant. Spending an evening with TFC friends was even more enjoyable. Pastor Dressler opened the program with a beautiful hymn, then closed the evening with another one. Chaplain Joe Matthews (Frystown Chapel) gave an interesting ministry update. A beautiful scene on the way […]
Field & Garden
Wednesday, May 8 Our area has been blessed with rain, so fields and yards are quite green. Farmers don’t have many open periods of time to cut and harvest crops. Eli got his hay harvested during a few sunny days last week. In our yard, the azalea are beautiful. The peppermint tea is ready for […]

Hanging Wire
Monday, May 6 When I went to the mailbox last Monday, I noticed a wire hanging from one of the large overhead wires. The wire almost touched the mail box, so I called our electric company, because I didn’t want anyone touching it. I told them it looked like an exterior wire from a large […]
Make-A-Wish Convoy ~ Gettysburg
Sunday, May 5 Looks like it will be a rainy day for the Make-A-Wish Convoy. I took these pictures at the TFC office while Cerwin prepared the truck for travel. An unfocused photo of rain on the truck windshield turned out to be interesting. On the road – up Chiques Hill – toward Route 30 […]
Ferns
If anyone in our local area would like any ferns, ours have multiplied and are threatening to take over our memory garden. I will be glad to share some with you. They are beautiful and I love them in our woodsy lot.
Happy Birthday to Our Favorite Anthony
We love you! Great-Grandpa & Great-Grandma High.
Cleveland Clinic ~ Day 4
Thursday, May 2 We woke up to a foggy morning. We were impressed that the doctor came fairly early in the morning and gave Marlin his walking papers. The doctor knew we had a six-hour drive so made sure he had an early release. Marlin said, “I am out of here!” Our last ride in […]
Cleveland Clinic ~ Day 3
Wednesday, May 1 We enjoyed walking the few blocks to the hospital on our third day in Cleveland. These busses – with accordion middles – were a common sight in the city. Marlin’s blood pressure was still high for most of the morning, but after they changed a medication, it began coming down. He was […]

Cleveland Clinic ~ Day 2
Tuesday, April 30 This was my view at 5:30 am – from the ninth floor of our hotel. I took this picture just before 7 am. A view out the corner window. Marlin and Nancy were across the hall, so their view was quite different from ours. Marlin asked Cerwin to come watch the traffic […]
Cleveland Clinic ~ Day 1
Monday, April 29 The purpose of this trip was to take my sister, Nancy, and her husband, Marlin, to Cleveland Clinic for his six-week checkup following complicated heart surgery. He was hoping to get permission to drive – and sit in the front seat of a car – following this checkup. I took this picture […]
Birthday Supper
Friday Evening, April 26 We celebrated Cerwin’s birthday a few days late – after Jeff and Chris’ family got home from a Tennessee vacation. We were sad that Roy was sick that evening and could not come to Outback Steakhouse – Cerwin’s restaurant of choice. Jeff, Cerwin, Jere, Kristen, Chris, and Deb. Steak was the […]
It’s Snowing Pink
Thursday, April 25 Cerwin said, “Look outside, It’s snowing pink.” The source of this pink “snow” was our cherry tree. I found the neatest, tiny cherry tree when I was looking for pink snow. At first I thought it was a tiny, fallen branch, then I saw that it was growing out of the tree […]
