A Small Patch of Red in the Woods Got My Attention
It has been a while since I saw a male cardinal at our feeders. I thought maybe there weren’t any in our woods this winter. Thus, I was delighted to see this spot of red through a window in the back of our house.

A Rainy Start to the New Year
~~~ Saturday, January 1 ~~~ When I went outside to take some raindrop photos, I was fascinated with this set of leaves caught in the dogwood tree. They are definitely not dogwood leaves – maybe from a Hickory tree. It is interesting to see shadows in raindrops. So pretty!

A Beauty at Our Birdfeeder
~~~ Wednesday, December 22 ~~~ The red-headed woodpeckers don’t come to our feeders on a regular basis, so I treasure each time I see one. The male and female look alike, so I don’t know which one this is. It is one of the prettiest birds in our area.
