Tuesday, September 13 I took a few pictures after I posted on Tuesday evening and will start with those. After supper we exercised our legs and walked around the truck lot at Flying J in Texarkana. By this time it was a busy place – with trucks continually arriving for the evening. We were glad we […]

Common True Katydid

Friday, September 2 We don’t often see Katydid’s in our woodlot, but we DO HEAR them. They get so loud at night that it becomes difficult to talk when we have a picnic. 🙂 The cicada (locust) sing during the day, then about dusk the katydids join them with a deeper song. By dark the cicadas […]

Sunday, August 28 It was about the middle the afternoon on Sunday when I felt bored and called the boys to see if they wanted to play Scum. They were here within minutes. 🙂 They didn’t know how to play but were fast learners. Jesse used barriers so he didn’t have to hold his cards. […]

Saturday Evening, August 27 Josiah heard about our visit to Rooster Street with Jordan, and thought he would rather go there than the place he originally chose for his 2016 birthday gift. I tried to look for some new things to photograph. If you want water, this is where you get it. If you want to pay […]

Saturday, August 27 This was part of our “Grandchildren’s Week”, but the Saturday of that week – in the middle of August – and the next Saturday did not suit us. On Saturdays and Sundays the sanctuary is open to the public. At other times you must make appointments – and it can be difficult to get […]

Wednesday Evening, August 24 I needed an updated picture for my refrigerator and got a good shot before we left for his 2016 birthday gift. We decided that our life would be boring without grandchildren as they come up with creative places to eat. This is in Lititz. I love unique, creative places to eat. […]

Sunday Evening, August 21 Everyone brought food. Cerwin’s Pennsylvania siblings needed an “excuse” to get together. We are still going through withdrawal after spending so much time together during Mother High’s declining health and death in February. Everyone’s children and grandchildren were invited, but it didn’t suit many of them. I enjoyed these pretty flowers […]

My husband, Cerwin, and I have four children, seventeen grandchildren (two are in Heaven), and twenty-two great grandchildren. Cerwin spent 40 years as a truck driver for Ferrellgas. We are both retired from serving with Transport For Christ - a ministry to truck drivers - and love our life in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
