Gerbera Daisy
I am pleased that our Gerbera Daisy survived the summer and is currently showing off three beautiful blooms. If I remember correctly, the daisy was a hostess gift to us for hosting a Sunday lunch earlier this year.
Clover and Bees
The other day on my walk, I came upon a cute little patch of clover that was blooming. As I looked at the clover, I thought, “Clover and bees go together. There must be some bees nearby.” Sure enough, there was a bee. I love the taste of clover honey. I smiled when I saw […]
Field Corn
The other day I took a walk down our road to see what is happening in the corn fields that line the road. The tassels waved beautifully as a slight breeze moved them. The tassels are responsible for the male part of pollen production. Pollination from the tassels is received by the silk (mostly by […]

Supper Made from Items Gathered at Our Harvest Tables at Church
Each Sunday people from our congregation bring excess produce to church and place it on the tables in our fellowship hall which are designated for that purpose. This is usually done during the spring, summer and fall seasons. This week Cerwin and I chose six potatoes, two onions and a few handfuls of green beans. […]
Goldfinch Pair
I enjoyed watching this goldfinch pair for several minutes the other day. They are a welcome colorful bird during the summer months here in Pennsylvania.
Birthday Breakfast with Roy & Deb
~~~ Wednesday, September 3 ~~~ We enjoyed breakfast at Eagle Cafe, Quarryville, PA, to celebrate Deb’s birthday – which was last week. Since breakfast fits best into their schedule and we have more free time then they do, we usually meet them in a restaurant near their place. I am not a French toast kind […]
