My Mother’s Day As A Great-Grandma

We took these pictures with my cell phone on Saturday afternoon.

I am so excited to announce that Cerwin and I just welcomed our first great-grandchild ~ Anthony Joel.

He is so precious and sweet ~ and looks pretty much like his daddy.

Our grandson Ian was with us at the hospital, as we were taking him along to our church’s love feast/communion service. He was delighted to hold Anthony.

Since we had given ourselves plenty of time to visit, we got to church early. When I said to Ian that we were early enough for him to help put rice soup on the tables if he wanted, he could hardly wait to get to church. He was excited to be in the assembly line.

Grandmas love when their grandchildren are willing workers.

Mother’s Day Love From Our Children

3A beautiful begonia from Jeff and his family ~ which came with a hug and a kiss.

3aStarbucks coffee from Diane’s family (who live in Maine). She is the new grandma ~ and is staying with us this week to help Abigail.

What fun to watch her being a grandmother. Mark, Elizabeth, Hannah, and Lydia made a quick trip (drove through the night on Saturday and back to Maine on Sunday) to Pennsylvania to see Anthony and leave her here.

3b (1)Pretty flowers from Jere and his “High Gang”. He is in Europe (Germany & Denmark) on business and has taken their oldest son, Josh, along for the travel experience.

3b (2)A pretty card from Deb and Roy, who were in Florida on Mother’s Day celebrating Roy’s mother’s 80th birthday. The card came with the promise of a dinner with them.

Oh, how I love and appreciate our thoughtful children who lavish their love on me ~ a mom who doesn’t always deserve it. But I accept it none-the-less. 🙂

More pictures of Anthony ~ from today ~ taken at their house.
