Backroad Scenes and Something to Ponder

It was a day in late February when we took some backroads and slightly unfamiliar roads – just for fun, to visit friends who are rebuilding from a barn fire and enjoy lunch with a gift card.

After lunch, we got between this group of riders at a traffic light, so slowed down to allow the back half to pass us. There was an interesting mix of motorcycles, Spyders and Slingshots. We wondered if they were just a group of friends or if their ride had a fund-raising purpose.

On the way to the restaurant, we noticed this new-to-us deli and decided to stop on the way home – because we had time and privately-owned specialty stores fascinate us. We purchased, and enjoyed, some items from their meat, deli and bakery items.

Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area was incredibly full of cars and people because the snow geese and Tundra Swans are migrating through the area. We did not take time to walk out to the area that was filled with these birds and were satisfied to see just a few in an outlying area.
