It was late last fall when I said yes to speaking at this event at our home church.

This was the invitation that went out earlier this year.

It’s amazing how quickly an event arrives when you are invested in studying and speaking. 🙂

I arrived early to get some pictures of the preparations and set up. My sister-in-law Brenda (back right) is the one who coordinates the food prep. I was glad I didn’t have her job and she was glad she didn’t have to do my part. 🙂

Getting the appetizer ready.

These two are second cousins and our great nieces. Ramona (left) is my brother Steve’s granddaughter and Heidi (right) is my sister Nancy’s granddaughter.

The table decorations made us feel like springtime.

This section of ladies were part of my “support team”. Left: Our daughter Deb, her friends Bernae and Katie. Next to them are three of our granddaughters, Gloria, Diana and Jenna. On the right is Kristen (daughter-in-law), Yeira (dating our grandson Jared), Denise and Dorretta (nieces) and Cerwin’s sister Velda.

Each lady received a small potting container filled with a napkin and a variety of candy. I think I will use my potting container to get fresh basil started.

Linnea Martin led the opening song, Fill Up My Cup.

They were set up for 170 ladies. There were some empty seats, so I expect there were about 160.

Crystal Miller opened with instructions and prayer.

Our appetizer pastry was on a small pedestal and was passed around between eight ladies. Yum!

I divided my talk into three sections according to the theme of the day, Celebrating Godly Femininity.

Following our appetizer, my first part was titled “Celebrating.” I spoke for about 12-13 minutes each time.

I centered those thoughts on knowing that God loves His girls and the benefits of praising God – every day.

Day after day after day.

Deb and Kristen used my camera to take pictures when I was speaking.

Our main course: an egg roll-up and southwest salad.

When everyone was finished with that part of the meal, I spoke about the benefits of being a Godly woman.

Day after day after day.

The final part of the meal was a variety of desserts. This was also served on a pedestal and passed between eight ladies. There were eight of each pastry, so we got to taste one of everything if we wished.

My final session was about using our femininity to serve God and be the best woman of God that we can be.

Day after day after day.

It was truly a great morning. I was blessed to have the opportunity to participate.
