Trip to New England, October 6-13: Celebrating Mark’s 2022 Birthday

~~~
Tuesday October 11 – Lunch
~~~

Mark’s birthday was six days earlier – before we arrived at their house. He has Tuesdays off from his work as a driver for First Fleet.

He was considering several restaurants. Because he had seen this 40’s diner in his travels, he settled on this one.

Mark and Diane

The lighting wasn’t great, but it shows a bit of our setting in the diner.

I was fascinated by the diner which has changed very little since it was established in the mid-40s. If I remember correctly, it is two years younger than me.

They had great food choices. Mark declared his goat cheese and beet salad as delicious.

Cerwin’s BLT.

Diane’s hamburger without a bun. I forget what those delicious looking toppings were.

I was surprised when the waitress asked if I wanted a soup spoon or chopsticks for my Asian vegetable soup. I don’t do well with chopsticks but understand how chopsticks could have worked for these vegetables. It was delicious with a really good broth.

Some scenery near the restaurant.

It was another nice day in Maine.
