For those who read my blog and are trying to figure out how Ashlea fits into our life, she in our great niece – a granddaughter of my sister Nancy and her husband Marlin. Her parents are Larry and Karen who own the homestead next to us.

Her maid of honor asked me to photograph the shower, which was quite fun for me.

The shower was held at the old schoolhouse next to Risser’s Mennonite Church near Elizabethtown.

The room was beginning to fill up with family, friends and coworkers when I arrived at 1:45 pm.

The stack of gifts grew as people arrived.

The mother of the bride and the mother of the groom in conversation in the kitchen.

Ashlea and her maid of honor, Ciara, discussing a message on Ashlea’s phone.

We were each asked to bring a recipe for Ashlea.

Guests were asked to guess the age of Ashlea in each of the pictures.

Then it was time to eat from this amazing charcuterie board and all the other things displayed for our enjoyment.

My place setting before I got food.

My choice of food.

Notice the game at the top left of my plate. We were each given a blank bingo card and asked to fill it out by guessing gifts that she might receive.

Enjoying the delicacies.

Opening gifts with the help of their flower girl.

Making a “bouquet” out of bows and ribbons.

Look who arrived – the groom! Colton had just returned from his weekend bachelor party.

I think Colton made Ashlea’s day complete.
