Smoky Sunset

I first noticed the sunset, then saw the large plume of smoke in the distance. I asked Cerwin what he thought it was. It looked controlled, so he surmised that it was coming from the emissions stack at Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority facility near Bainbridge. It is something we rarely see.

Notice the church steeple and light to the right of the smoke? That is Ruhl’s United Methodist Church. A landmark for us when looking for the location of something like this smoke. The smoke was probably 20 miles (by road) maybe 15 as the crow flies behind the church.

That was an interesting addition to the sunset.
