Preparations for Our Christmas Celebration

Saturday Morning, December 18

This year it was decided that Cerwin and I would prepare the place and our children would choose and prepare the meal – a sign that we are getting older and need help.

You cannot imagine how thankful I was for their ideas and help.

You probably already read that the Myers family was here two weeks ago. When choosing dates, they ran into logistical and date complications, but we made it work by having two meals. Diane got to help with the first meal.

The “girls” Chris, Kristen and Deb decided to have a charcuterie meal. I am still working at pronouncing that word. 🙂 Consequently, there was more set up than usual. Jere, Kristen and Jeff were here on Saturday morning to get that done.

Deb and her sister-in-law Mary went to Jere and Kristen’s that afternoon to do some food preparation.

The black edges are a kind of chalk board to use for writing descriptions, etc. The pinkish center will serve as a place for food, as well as the boards and plates. The small table was set up for dessert.

The others did the decorations while Cerwin and I did the place settings.

Kristen loves doing this kind of thing, making it easy for the rest of us to do our part of preparing food and drink.

Come back for my next post to see the amazing charcuterie spread they prepared for Sunday lunch.
