A Delightful Day

The delightful day happened because our daughter Diane is here from Maine. She arrived on Sunday evening and will be here for three-weeks – to welcome a new grandbaby (not yet here), for a niece’s wedding and to attend a family get-together and her dad’s 80th birthday party.

Diane and I went with Lydia to meet two of Lydia’s friends. I wasn’t planning to go along, but Diane encouraged me to go with them. Oh, what fun to be reminded of God’s care for us. Because of Lydia, this couple was able to connect with Diane who lives near their daughter in Maine. She needed Mark and Diane’s assistance and as a result we had some supplies for her parents.

Then while I visited with them and mentioned our work with Transport For Christ (now TFC Global) and putting chapels in truck stops, he said, “That’s interesting because years ago one of my coworkers came to work one day and said, I am going to be leaving to buy a truck stop.” When he mentioned the circumstance and where the truck stop was located, I knew immediately that his coworker’s name was Bob, because I recognized the situation. 🙂 Both of us were amazed to have a connection in this way.

After leaving their place, we stopped for a short visit with our niece (Diane’s cousin) who lived nearby. I hadn’t seen her since they moved to Pennsylvania.

From there we went to BB’s to meet Deb and do a bit of bargain shopping. I was delighted to find all the juice mixtures I needed for making wedding punch for Jana’s wedding this weekend.

Our last stop was Willow Street Diner for a late lunch. It’s always fun to be with our two daughters – Diane (left) and Deb (right). This time it was Lydia (Diane’s daughter) who had the opportunity to enjoy the day with us.

I love delightful days and being reminded of God’s love and care for us.
