Cerwin Says, “Thanks.”

He was blessed with cards, food, phone calls and hundreds of Facebook and online birthday wishes for his 80th birthday.

Our granddaughter Lydia stopped in the evening before, with a shoefly pie from Roy and Deb. (Lydia works at a senior care facility near Roy and Deb.)

Lydia brought her own gift of 4 cupcakes.

Peach, Snickerdoodle, Boston Cream and Chocolate Peanut Butter.

Our first taste test was the peach. Oh, my. It was delicious.

My brother Dale and sister-in-law Dot stopped in on his birthday with a thoughtful card and a loaf of bread – which Dale baked.

Yum!

Cerwin’s restaurant of choice is usually Longhorn and that is what he chose for his birthday supper.

Since were leaving for Tennessee the next morning, Cerwin got a steak filet meal and I got a salad. We shared his meal so we wouldn’t have to deal with leftovers. 🙂

We shared his free “birthday” ice cream sundae.

We noticed a couple near us who were sharing a sundae like this, so I asked what they were celebrating. He said, “Our 63rd wedding anniversary.” We learned that they had been here a few days earlier to celebrate his 83rd birthday. What a neat, friendly couple. They have been friends since 1st grade. He was retired military, which means they have lived in a variety of countries.

Due to schedules, COVID and our trip to Heze and Kayla’s wedding, we are planning a family birthday party in early June when we can be outside. There was also a pecan pie for him at Heze and Kayla’s rehearsal meal – photo coming in a few days.

He enjoyed sharing red velvet whoopie pies with his coworkers at Lancaster DHIA, TFC Global, and the area children.
