The White-throated Sparrow is distinctive because of its black striped head and yellow feathers above its eye.

From the Internet: White-throated Sparrows show loyalty to their winter and summer territories and are likely to return to the same areas each year.

I was interested to learn that White-throated Sparrows and Dark-eyed Juncos have been known to occasionally mate and produce hybrids.

A Dark-eyed Junco

I found this photo on the internet of a hybrid white-throated sparrow and dark-eyed junco.

I enjoy learning new things about birds that frequent our feeders.
