I looked out a back window and was surprised to see what I thought was a white pigeon. I took the first two pictures through a window screen.

I don’t remember ever seeing a pigeon in our yard – even though there are a lot in the area because of the farms.

I forgot about it – and went to the front yard to do some weeding, then went to the shed to get a gardening tool and almost stepped on it!

I said, “Oh, you are so pretty. I am going back in the house to get my camera.”

At first I thought it might be hurt or sick, but then saw a band on it right leg.

I googled white pigeon and got white dove. The description said, “If you see one of these, it is probably a dove that was released at a wedding or funeral. It is probably okay and will soon fly away and head to its home and owner.”

It watched while I got my garden tools, and the next time I checked, it was gone – hopefully to its owner and home.
