Our Day – Between Sunrise and Sunset

Monday, December 23

It was the morning of the day before Christmas Eve.

It was a pretty sunrise – not brilliant like some mornings – but it was the one God gave us to enjoy on this December morning.

The sunrise filled only a small part of the eastern sky. I quickly lost the sun as I moved my camera to the south.

Before long I finished my coffee – while watching a Hallmark movie. Cerwin was out on the road picking up milk samples for DHIA. He usually gets home between 9:30 and 10:30 am.

We didn’t have a lot to do, but did a few routine things in our house and office. It was about the middle of the afternoon when Cerwin received a call from Costco saying his eye glasses were ready to pick up.

We decided to stop what we were doing and get the glasses – about forty-five minutes away – determining that we had time to get the glasses and probably a few Christmas groceries before our supper date.

By the time we were on our way to Stauffer’s of Kissel Hill for groceries the sun was setting in a beautiful fashion. Our main purpose for going to a grocery store was to get something for our daughter, Deb, that she couldn’t find in southern Lancaster County.

Because we had plenty of time – and found what Deb needed – we decided to get a few special items for our Christmas eve supper and Christmas morning breakfast as we didn’t have any Christmas celebration plans until lunch.

We chose Stauffer’s because it was close to Hoss’s where we were going for supper. I can’t tell you what Deb needed, because it was for a gift and I don’t think the person has received it yet. Her bill was about $28.00, but after getting our special items and an item or two we needed – we left with a $75.00 grocery bill. 🙂 The special supper and breakfast items were our Christmas gifts to each other.

You will have to come back for my next post to see pictures and read about our evening at Hoss’s.
