House Finch

The House Finch is one of the most common birds at our feeders.

I see them almost every day – all year long.

I learned something new about them when reading their “bio” in my bird book.

House Finches are native to western states and were introduced to the east coast in the New York City area in 1940 when they were released because pet dealers were arrested for illegally selling them as “Hollywood Finches.”
