Getting Things Done

I woke up early one morning this week thinking, it is only two-and-a-half weeks until our family Christmas! Yikes! I better start getting organized. 🙂

Now if it had been several years ago, I wouldn’t have been thinking that way, but the older I get, the more organized I have to be – ahead of time.

Also, during the past few weeks – after exchanging, summer and fall clothing and shoes in our closets for winter clothes – I thought, “I have the oldest, frumpiest shoes.” I truly think some of my winter shoes are fifteen to twenty years old.

First: on Wednesday, after taking my sister, Nancy, to the hospial to be with her husband for the day, and visiting for awhile, I decided to stop at Boscov’s on the way home and check on one or two pair of new shoes. Boscov’s is usually my “go to” store when I look for comfortable shoes.

I parked at Boscov’s (in the Park City Mall) , shopped at Boscov’s, and within twenty minutes was on my way home with three purchases. Two pair of shoes and a sweater. I love when that happens, because I do not enjoy shopping. I told the shoe clerk that it was almost as easy as shopping on Amazon.

Then, on to getting things done and organizing our house before our family comes in early December. We started by getting “rid” of some things that need to be donated or recycled. We donated an old laptop and cell phone to Free Geek Penn. Cerwin bought a new phone this week in preparation for getting a hearing aid with Bluetooth. (The old one was from two phones ago.) He kept his “newest old one” to look for phone numbers that may not have been transferred from his sim card.

Then to Arby’s for lunch.

Oops! My camera focused on the raindrops on the window rather than on the store sign. 🙂 It was a cold, rainy day.

Our last stop on this particular day was Wal-Mart where we each got a separate cart, went separate directions and looked for $3.00 items for our now-you-have-it-now-you-don’t game. We got a good start on that project.

I spent another morning “deep-cleaning” an area that I wanted to do before our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren come for Christmas – not that anyone will notice – but I will. 🙂 Ah, that looks better.
