Trucks Arriving at Kidron Auction – Ohio Truck Rally

Friday Evening, July 6

I posted only a few photos here. If you want to see a lot of trucks arriving in Kidron, go to this link on my Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/doris.j.high/media_set?set=a.10155614557152322.1073741883.612697321&type=3

We arrived at Kidron Auction about 2 pm and did a bit of shopping at Lehman’s Hardware – an experience in itself – before setting up my lawn chair for taking pictures as the trucks arrived.

The truck parkers got organized as trucks began arriving. This is Allen Hostetler who helped organize this parade.

I liked the “Mater” tow truck on the trailer of this big tow truck.

This killdeer must have had a nest nearby, because it was “going crazy” as more and more trucks arrived.

I walked back to the Sprunger Building to see what was going on there.

John Schmid was singing gospel and trucking songs.

There was food – hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, chips, and drink.

Time to walk back to my lawn chair and take more truck pictures.

By the time the last truck arrived there were something like 320 trucks.

Cerwin and I left Kidron about 6:45 PM (to get ahead of the 7:00 parade) to find our pre-planned spot (near Mount Hope) for watching the parade. Lots of people were lined up to watch the trucks leave Kidron Auction grounds.

The parade route was filled with people on lawn chairs and sitting on the ground.

We chose this spot earlier in the day because of the rolling hills and received permission from the people in whose driveway we parked.

There was a field of sheep behind us.

We waited about an hour before the parade arrived.

I will post those pictures later today.
