Antique Truck Club of America, Macungie, PA – Part 3

Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16

These are some general photos I took at the truck show. Trucks and things that I thought were interesting.

Sons and grandsons of Hobby Horse Trucking relaxing at the show…

…this one was relaxing under the trailer.

Doug Maney (who organizes the show) introduced Chaplain Jake before the Friday evening meal and promoted the Transport For Christ Truck Rally.

Jake is always invited to have the prayer before the evening meal.

The meal is buffet style. If you wish to participate you must sign up before the show. Charge is by donation. The 400-500 people receive armbands by color. When your color is called you can get in line. There are clams, shrimp, hamburgers, hot dogs, and a variety of salads and desserts.

Jake took Cerwin and me on a golf cart ride around the grounds on Saturday morning. Cerwin was especially looking for a truck he saw entering – an Autocar similar to one he drove in his early trucking days. On the way we went by this one titled  BJ and the Bear.

We found the Autocar.

It brought back a lot of memories for Cerwin.

The place was full of trucks and people by Saturday noon. With the record number of trucks – more than 840 – trucks were parked in every available space.

There was magazine and TV coverage, so we saw several news people. I expect this drone may have been from one of those media outlets.

More tomorrow night.
