South Africa – Day 4 – Supper at Knead

Saturday Evening, March 3

Knead has this creative bike rack in front of their restaurant.

This was very close to our hotel.

Our waitress said her name is Sibongib – from Zimbabwe.

This was on the back of each staff person’s shirt.

Restaurants on a beach usually have a casual atmosphere. This one also had some classy decorations.

I ordered Rooibus Needles tea – it is supposed to be good for a body.

From the Internet: Rooibos, meaning “red bush”; is a broom-like member of the Fabaceae family of plants growing in South Africa’s fynbos. The leaves are used to make a herbal tea that is called by the names: rooibos, bush tea, or redbush tea. The tea has been popular in Southern Africa for generations, but is now consumed in many countries worldwide. The tea has a taste and color somewhat similar to hibiscus tea, or an earthy flavor like yerba mate.

There was some posed photography as we waited for our meal.

I forget who got which meal

Pizza was Jesse’s choice

Many breakfast items were available all day long.

This was my “Sweet Corn Fritters” – a breakfast item. It was a kind of pancake made with corn, chili, red onion, and celery. There was also an egg  (covered with siriracha mayonnaise), tomato, avocado, and bacon. Quite delicious!

This was our last night in Muizenberg so I walked around inside the large entrance area to take some photos for my memory bank.

Cerwin and I were on the third floor – on the right (with balcony) Jere and Kristen were just to the left of where I am standing – also on the third floor.

A closer look at our room.

A pretty potted flower

The entrance area was decorated with many of these large pots.

A few more pictures of our room.

We spent our final evening in Muizenberg packing suitcases as we had a 9:10 am departure from Cape Town Airport – to Hoedspruit.
