Traveling To Maine

Wednesday, August 27

01-1 (1)Cerwin was glad to have the Pass Lake Chapel ready for the paint shop before we went to Maine for our usual Labor Day visit with our family and to attend the bluegrass concert at Thomas Point Beach.

02-1 (2)Pass Lake truck stop is east of Thunder Bay Ontario, Canada. We are hoping to deliver it in early October.

03-1 (3)Our grandson Josh helped Cerwin do some exterior work on the trailer before it was taken to the paint shop.

4Our oldest grandchild, Elizabeth, returned to our house a few days before we left for Maine and was staying here during our entire time in Maine with her parents. She had just come from a week of training in New Windsor, Maryland, in preparation for Brethren Volunteer Service in Lewiston, Maine. She needed a picture for her prayer card, so one evening I took several shots of her. She chose this one.

11-3 (7)We were on the road early on August 27.

About an hour later I kept my camera busy as I tried to capture some sunrise photos.

12-3 (9)It was a beautiful morning as we traveled north with the trucks ~ over the hills and around the curves of I-78.

14-3 (11)

16-3 (13)The sunrise was breath-taking.

32-3 (36)Our first stop on the way to Maine is always the same ~ the Pilot Travel Center near Bloomsbury, New Jersey ~ for fuel. I loved the lettering on the side of this Crete trailer as it crossed in front of us.

33-3 (37)After the sun rose, I spent most of my time reading until we arrived at Flynn’s Travel Plaza (Shrewsbury, Massachusetts) where Cerwin stopped to clean the air conditioners on the chapel.

34-3 (38)We ate a quick lunch here before moving on to our final destination near Brunswick, Maine.

I have many pictures of the four-plus days we spent in Maine. I will tell you about the first day tomorrow night.
