Food, Pole Barn Auction & Chainsaw Artist ~ Brethren Disaster Relief Auction

Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27

1 (1)Warm Amish-made donuts are difficult to resist ~ and they sell lots of them.

1 (2)

1 (4)I was wishing that they would sell donut holes by the piece but they are placed in a container of 10 or 12. And I didn’t want and entire donut – just one donut hole.

1 (3)When I sat down at the heifer auction on Friday morning, and made sure I wasn’t blocking the view of the person behind me, he replied, “No, I am just trying to find someone who would like some donut holes.” He had a box of them and didn’t want to eat all of them. (I was pleased to take one off of his hands.) 🙂

It had been a good morning for me. One of the fire police recognized me from the TFC Truck Rally, and gave me a VIP parking spot.

There are days like that – a VIP parking spot and a free donut hole. I will receive every blessing I can get.

1 (5)

1 (6)

1 (7)One thing I can’t resist at this auction is the French fries. I had some for lunch.

1 (9)I bought an iced tea to go with the fries then went to my chair in the main auction and enjoyed both.

1 (8)Later in the day I came here for a milk shake for my supper.

1 (10)There are lots of food choices.

Assembling School Kits – Brethren Disaster Relief Auction

Friday, September 26

1 (108)

1 (390)My note from last year said they assembled 12,000 school kits, so I expect they had the same number this year. I didn’t think to ask.

(I was told that number is correct.)

Heifer Auction ~ Brethren Disaster Relief Auction

Friday, September 26

The Heifer Auction is one of the first activities of this weekend event, so I will begin my  series of photos with pictures of heifers.

1 (9)Heifers are donated to the auction so funds can be raised for disaster relief projects – like repairing homes which have been damaged by floods and hurricanes.
