New Growth and Something to Ponder
If you follow my blog, you may remember the Ladies’ Fellowship Brunch on March 2, where each lady was given a small pack of seeds and potting soil for planting. Mine was Cosmos (mixed) flower seeds. I planted mine several days later, then about a week after that I began seeing tiny sprouts of flowers […]
Babysitting Great Grandchildren
~~~ Monday, March 18 ~~~ We always look forward to having Nate and Abby’s children for a few hours every now and then. It’s the first time we had their youngest – Renee – for a few hours. She was here a few weeks ago but was sleeping in her car seat when she arrived […]
Inge’s Memorial Flowers
We have two memorial areas in the back part of our yard – before the woodsy area – to remember three of Inge’s cats who went on to their eternal reward. We were glad to do that for her, so she has a place to go each spring when her crocus and daffodils bloom.
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker and Something to Ponder
I enjoy watching these because they almost always eat upside down. This one is a female, because she does not have red throat feathers. ~~~ Something to Ponder ~~~
Sarah Mae and Her Kinfolk
Sam, Inge, Cerwin and I thoroughly enjoyed this play which was written by Gail Blanton and held at Lampeter Church of the Brethren, near Willow Street. Our connection to The Promise Players presentations is Sam’s daughter Debbie and son-in-law Lanny who are involved in its production in a variety of ways. I posted a lot […]
1973 Crocus, Rain Drops and Something to Ponder
My mom gave us 10 crocus bulbs to help celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. This is one of those. They mean more to me than most of the flowers on our property because she died suddenly about the time they bloomed for the first time in the spring of 1974. These rain drops looked pretty […]
Supper with Friends
~~~ Wednesday Evening, March 13 ~~~ Because Nelson and Nancy live near Myerstown and we live near Manheim, we chose the Palmyra Texas Roadhouse – about the same distance for both of us. This meal was a birthday gift to Nelson for his 2023 birthday. It was time to get together, because he will soon […]

A Weeping Pussy Willow Tree in Memory of Hannah
We have been thinking about a new, unique tree that would fit into our woodlot, in memory of our granddaughter Hannah – who died suddenly on July 4, 2023, from a blood clot. We were discussing a location for a pussy willow bush, until yesterday when we stopped at Esbenshade’s Garden Center and discovered a […]

Philadelphia Flower Show – Part 2
~~~ Tuesday, March 5 The Flower Displays ~~~ Get ready to walk through the flower show with 95 photos taken through my lens. This was the main attraction – close to the entrance. It was difficult to walk away from this display without taking even more pictures. This seemed like a great place to take […]
