I am not sure where this kind of kettle got the name “dutch oven”, but that is what I searched for when looking for a new kettle that is fairly wide and only about 4″ tall. I like this size because it is about 7 quart and can be used for cooking or baking.

I think I got our old one free, when going to a demonstration or buying something shortly after we were married. It was my favorite kettle but looked terrible. 🙂

I broke it in by making a roast in the oven.

I checked it about one hour to see how it was doing. It looked delicious but needed more baking.

This has quickly become my favorite large kettle.
