Fall in Our Neighborhood

We had pretty leaves in our area this year.

I took these pictures on October 26 as we travelled the road toward our house.

The next day I took some pictures in our yard. It has been interesting to watch the sunset maple gradually turning from green to red.

By November 2 it was totally red – but the cherry tree behind it had dropped many of its leaves.

Many other trees in our lot were turning yellow and orange.

By early November many of those pretty leaves were on the ground.

One of the last pretty trees in our yard was our red maple, but it too was beginning to leave a carpet of red leaves.

Early this week the sunset maple began dropping its leaves.

A big rig went by our place as I was taking the previous picture.

The sunset maple lost many of its leaves in the last two days and will soon have bare branches.

Yesterday’s wind brought down a lot of leaves.

Some are still hanging on – withstanding the wind.

Our woodlot is beginning to look bare and brown compared to a week ago.

The prettiest tree right now is the red maple at the end of our driveway. There are still leaves on the branches and the grass now has a heavy carpet of bright red leaves.

It was a pretty fall with a lot of warm weather.
