Supper at The Brickerville House Restaurant with Friends

When we invited Marv and Fay to go out for a meal, they chose The Brickerville House, which was nice for us because it’s not far from our house.

Marv and Fay are TFC friends from the ’80s when they began helping us with the Truck Rally. As the event grew, they began overseeing and organizing the evening barbecue meal. It was no small feat because there was a time when we served more than 1,000 people. After the Lebanon Expo opened their own food court, and people could eat all day long, the count was more like 800. People always marveled at how quickly people were served in their buffet line.

We miss seeing them since we no longer hold the rally and see them at committee meetings.

They oversee Sauder Truck & Brokerage and stay quite busy as they work at keeping their drivers busy.

What fun to catch up on their lives as we enjoyed delicious food. This is my haddock. We knew their boys when they were babies. Now they are grown with children and Marv and Fay have grandchildren who are married.

We kept an eye on the road outside the restaurant window because it was supposed to begin snowing while we were there. Thankfully it waited until minutes after we left.

There will be snow pictures in tomorrow’s post.
