Jana’s Bridal Shower – Part 1

Sunday, March 14. 11 am to 2 pm drop-in brunch. For our granddaughter, Jana, who is marrying Austin Garber in May.

Our daughter Deb and I were asked to take pictures of the day. Deb arrived early and took pictures until 12:30 – before she needed to go home. I stayed until the end and took more than 300 pictures. After keeping only what I considered the best, I have exactly 100 pictures to post and decided to do it three entries.

Deb was there when Jana arrived – and took this photo. She thought I would appreciate having it for the story of her bridal shower.

The shower was held at Fox Meadows Creamery where Jana and her brothers Ian and Jared work.

It was wise to put up signs stating ” Private Party” – even though Fox Creamery is not open on Sundays. (We noticed a few people who drove into the parking lot then left.)

I didn’t realize that when I took a photo of this welcome sign, I also captured Jana in the background.

The welcome table included cookies, cards for giving her advice, and envelopes where the ladies were asked to write their name and address for Jana to send thank you notes.

I included a few decorations in this first post.

There was a special area for photos with the bride-to-be.

Emily (maid of honor), Kristen and the bridesmaids did an amazing job of planning and organizing the day. Jana’s dad and brothers did a lot of the “grunt” work before and after the shower.

The Brunch

The brunch table included bacon, sausage, fruit, and waffles with lots of topping choices – including Fox Meadows ice cream.

Ian and three co-workers served the waffles and ice cream.

Jana’s brothers Jesse and Jared were in charge of making the waffles.

The juice table included lemonade, orange juice, milk, fruit, flavorings and Sparkling Perrier.

Some Family Photos

Deb took this picture of us with Jana before she left.

Having fun

I think Jana is saying, “Someone please rescue me from my parents.”

More in my next post.
