I Felt Blessed On the Day of My Birth

Monday, February 8

There was a card and whoopie pie on our counter when I woke up at 5:30 am – a gift from Jere and Kristen’s family. I expect that Jere dropped it off on his way to work.

Dale (my oldest brother-but younger than me) and Dot stopped in just before 9:00 am with a card, hot chocolate bomb and a bag of candy. I am anxious to try the bomb. The candy is amazing to my taste because raspberry and dark chocolate are two of my favorite flavors.

Just after Dale and Dot arrived, our granddaughter Diana and great grandson Bennett stopped in to wish me an in-person happy birthday and brought a bag of chocolate chip cookies – which we enjoyed with coffee.

I was surprised to see Bennett walking so well. I knew he had been taking some steps, but he is walking quite well. He is not quite ten months old.

He is still a bit wobbly and easily goes down, but then he crawls or gets up again. They stayed until he was ready for his morning nap.

My afternoon treat was my monthly deep tissue massage with Carla – and while I was there our grandson Jared delivered a gift card (from Mark and Diane in Maine) who must have coordinated with someone in Jere and Kristen’s house – because some of our grandchildren work at Fox Meadows. That will be a great place for lunch and ice cream some day.

Though Roy and Deb took us out for my birthday meal on Friday evening, Cerwin thought I should not have to cook supper on my birthday.

He had never been to Knight & Day, so I thought this would be a good time to introduce him to the restaurant.

I ordered haddock and a salad – which was delicious.

I also like their corn nuggets.

Cerwin was quite impressed with their turkey, filling and gravy.

He is already talking about going back. πŸ™‚

On top of the above things, I received birthday greetings by phone, mail, email, messenger, MeWe, and lots and lots of Facebook wishes. Thank you everyone.
