Longhorn Steakhouse to Celebrate Our Anniversary

Monday, September 14

An Amish family who lives nearby have several longhorn cattle. Since they were close to the road and looked good in the late afternoon lighting, we stopped for a picture. I didn’t think about it at the time that it fit into my theme for this post. 🙂

I love having creative farmers in our neighborhood. We have longhorn cattle, elk, and bison – all within one mile of our house.

We went early because the wait time can be long if you wait until the workday is over – due to limited seating because of COVID.

I enjoy the atmosphere at Longhorn.

Water would have been enough, but since it was our anniversary, we shared a virgin strawberry daiquiri.

Our waitress graciously took our photo.

This restaurant is without a doubt Cerwin’s favorite. He never has to look at the menu, because he always gets the same thing: Flo’s 6 oz. Filet – which comes with two sides. He always chooses the house salad and a baked sweet potato.

Cerwin’s steak and sweet potato.

I don’t always choose the same thing, but usually get Redrock Grilled Shrimp with a Strawberry & Pecan Salad and Fresh Steamed Broccoli.

I took the photo of my meal after taking the shrimp off one skewer. I told our waitress that everything was delicious – just like I expected, but the broccoli was exceptionally good. I especially liked how it was prepared and flavored.

She surprised us with an ice cream sundae for dessert. I asked how she remembered that it was our 57th anniversary, because we only mentioned it in the beginning when she asked about our day.

She said, “When you said it was your 57th Wedding Anniversary, I thought, wow they were married the year before I was born.”
