Sportsman’s Dinner

Saturday Evening, February 22

We arrived at Ephrata Business Center early so we would have time to visit the venders. The tables above and below displayed some of the door prizes.

Cerwin looks good in a hat. 🙂

Getting the hors d’oeuvres ready.

Cerwin visiting at Weaver’s Store hunting supplies table.

A card advertising their Archery Expo.

Archery display

He does beautiful work.

This young Amish man owns one of these bows and was telling Cerwin about his latest hunt.

An interesting Flyfishing table.

He was dressed in a Colonial fishing outfit.

We know these two at the Eyeluninator table – Deb and Fred Stauffer. Fred is a brother to our brother-in-law Bob.

Our friend Kevin at Whitetail Deer Hunts table.

Hickory Creek Outfitter table

My favorite vendor is this talented couple who create beautiful things from deer antlers.

Musser’s Outdoors display. They donated the grand prize – a $300 gift card.

Backyard Bucks

By the time we visited each vendor, the hors d’oeuvres were ready. The first one was rabbit stew.

Marinated venison

Venison cubes

Grilled venison in Au jus sauce

Deer bologna cubes

Terry Redcay welcomed everyone to this event which is put on by Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Kevin van Buskirk announced an upcoming hunt for special needs children and adults.

Some beautiful taxidermy displays

A beautiful painting on the Business Center’s wall.

Supper is ready

This was my meal. I should have taken a photo of Cerwin’s plate, because I chose small portions. 🙂

The largest 2019 rack award went to the man on the left.

Guest speaker Mike Farris is a USA Military Chaplain from West Virginia.

He gave a great challenge on staying on target and not missing the mark – spiritually.

Giving out the grand prize – a $300 gift card to Musser’s Store. The other door prizes were given out during the meal. Cerwin won a gift certificate to Domino’s Pizza. I will tell you about that in my next post.

Thanks, Mt. Zion Baptist Church for a great evening.
