Breakfast with Jesse at Middle School

Thursday Morning, January 30

Jere usually goes to this breakfast with Jesse. If it doesn’t suit him, Kristen goes. If it doesn’t suit either of them, Cerwin goes. This is the first time I went – because it didn’t suit any of them.

We had a delicious meal of breakfast pizza, cinnamon buns and apple juice.

There was an interesting speaker.

I told Jesse I thought his dad and brothers showed teamwork when they shoveled snow from our driveway the other week.

He thought about teamwork when Grandpa helped his dad and family build their chicken house.

Next we had to build a cup pyramid like this – without touching the cups. πŸ™‚ Each parent/child team had 4 strings, one rubber band and 6 cups.

Jesse thinking about a plan to get this accomplished.

I couldn’t take pictures of our attempts, so I took some of those around us.

It worked best when you put the 4 strings through the rubber band – pulled it apart to make it into a large “squarish” shape and allowed it to close over the cup, but it was next to impossible to build the pyramid without touching the cups because the cups weren’t real cooperative with this project. We had a bit of success with 2 strings – one of us tightening our string around the top of the cup and the other around the bottom of the cup.

About the time we accomplished getting a few cups in a pyramid form, we had to create this tower in the same way.

That was fun and proved that this couldn’t be done without teamwork.

Then it was time for Jesse to go down the hall to his first class and for me to go home.
