Sauder Cousins & Crepe Myrtle

July 31, 2019

It was truly delightful to have lunch at Oregon Dairy with twenty Sauder cousins.

We love this quarterly (4 times a year) lunch and hearing what is going on with the Sauder cousins and their families. There is usually a cousin update of surgeries, illnesses, etc. before prayer for the meal.

When we got back to our house I was pleased to notice that our crepe myrtle bush was blooming. I thought it had not survived the winter because each of its branches were dead this spring – then we noticed new branches growing out at the ground level.

We thought it might not bloom even though there were many nice branches and healthy-looking leaves . Consequently, we are pleased to see these bright pink blooms.
