Cleveland Clinic ~ Day 2

Tuesday, April 30

This was my view at 5:30 am – from the ninth floor of our hotel.

I took this picture just before 7 am.

A view out the corner window.

Marlin and Nancy were across the hall, so their view was quite different from ours. Marlin asked Cerwin to come watch the traffic in the parking garage as people arrived to work at the clinic.

Marlin, Nancy and Cerwin ordered an egg breakfast at the grill in the Clinic cafeteria. I had a bagel.

I enjoy the creative artwork in hospitals.

This one was made of felt.

Waiting for the shuttle back to our motel.

Marlin mentioned that he would like to see Lake Erie on this trip, so this seemed like a good morning to do that, as his first appointment was in the early afternoon.

We weren’t sure where we could find a good spot go get near the lake, but found a beautiful park in Lakewood – about half an hour from the Clinic.

This squirrel was not afraid of people and was intent on eating leaf buds.

Nancy and I went down the walkway to the path along the water. The men stayed on the upper path.

Enjoy our walk – we did.

Looking back over where we had just walked.

Back on the road – seeing some of the same buildings we saw from the lake’s edge.

Home of the Cleveland Browns.

Back at the Clinic for Marlin’s afternoon appointments.

Marlin’s checkup went great and each report was excellent concerning the heart surgery, but his blood pressure was still quite high, so he was admitted for the night so they could monitor his vitals.

The rest of us went back to the motel where we had registered for another night.
