Day 3 with Hans & Anneke – Part 2

Thursday, March 28

We saw several Amish schools on the way to Kitchen Kettle Village.

Anneke wanted to do some more shopping, so we thought this would be a great place to spend an hour. We planned a meeting place and said, “Have fun.” 🙂

Cerwin enjoyed coffee while I walked around a bit. I enjoyed listening to this man play Irish music and tapping with his feet. He was playing You Are My Sunshine when I took this picture. Then I joined Cerwin for coffee.

We still had time before the 3 pm production of JESUS at Sight and Sound, so checked out the neat things in this store.

Relaxing on a rocking chair at the store. They continued to be fascinated by rockers and chairs on front porches, because when they sit outside in Belgium, they are in their back yard.

Driving toward Sight and Sound.

Sight and Sound Theatre

We were early enough to get a picture of them with the “Lion and the Lamb.”

Our seats in the theatre.

Since we were early, the seats were not yet filled when I took this picture, but most of the 2,000 seats were filled by 3 PM. During the break I talked to the couple who were sitting on the other side of me and learned that they were from Ukraine – and he is a truck driver for UPS. How fun, we had a couple from Belgium on our right and a couple from Ukraine on our left.

We cannot take pictures during the production, so I took a few before it started.

Act 1 begins with “The Boys of Galilee” and ends with Jesus “Walking on Water.”

Act 2 begins with “Entr’acte” and the story of “Lazarus” and ended with “Pentecost” and “Peter’s Sermon”

You may remember that Hans told me they wanted to be “immersed” in our Christian culture – and I thought he may have been “drowned” in it after visiting with our chaplains.” At the end of this production he said, “Now I am truly drowning.”

We went to Katie’s Kitchen for supper.

This is where they learned that they do not like cheeseburger soup or shoefly pie. 🙂 (They just tasted ours.)

It was a fantastic day.
