Traveling Home ~ Charlotte, North Carolina to Home

Friday, December 7

We were on the road just as the sun was rising.

Busy morning traffic

Enjoy the morning beauty

Sometimes I wonder what is under some of the wrapped loads.

A truck load of coffee! That would keep one awake on the road. Really, it is fuel. 🙂

Virginia scenery

A big load for a pickup truck

Lunch stop. We were just ahead of a bus load of passengers, and soon discovered many of them were from our area. First I met a woman who said, “I know you. You serve with Transport For Christ.” We didn’t know each others name, but used to go to the same Curves – and we had mutual friends. Someone said, “Doris High!” It was Kathy Bollinger. Her parents go to our church, and I have known her since she was a little girl. Then the tour guide came up to our table to introduce herself. She is Les and Carole Habbershon’s daughter. Les was TFC’s Director of Chapel Construction before Cerwin. For those who know Les, he just fell and broke his back. He is in a nursing care facility.

The group was on their way home from packing shoe boxes for Samaritan’s Purse.

We got into some slow traffic and soon knew the reason. It appears this car and a bobtail truck got too close to each other.

Another big load.

The truck pulling the load

Someone is getting Christmas trees.

We had a great trip, but this sign looked good to us.

Another reminder of George H.W. Bush.

It was good to see Josiah and Diane (Diane stayed with Josiah while we went to Florida.) It was also nice to sit in our own La-Z-Boys and be familiar with our TV channels – and sleep in our own bed.
