The gatekeepers opened the gate for me to enter the heifer barn. 🙂 I love watching young volunteers at this event.
Heifers ready for auction
The youngest heifer was just over one month old.

The first heifer up for auction. The heifers are donated by local farmers.
The heifer auction brings in a significant amount of money to the total benefit – which gives assistance in areas that need help in disaster relief. I understand that some of the funds from the weekend will go directly to help with the flooding in the Carolinas.
I want the one called Gracie, but I would change her name to Gracia.
She would be perfect for you – if you had a barn. Then you would have a supply of milk for you and some of your family.
