Deb’s Birthday Brunch

Monday Morning, August 27

Left to right: Deb, Diane, Anthony, Abby, Kristen, Grandma Hershey, and Chris.

Her birthday wish was to have brunch with her sister and sisters-in-law and any nieces who were available. It is a rare day that her sister Diane is in Pennsylvania on her birthday. As you can see, Abby was the only niece who was able to attend.

The nieces who couldn’t come: Elizabeth and Hannah were in Maine; Lydia had to work; Diana was on her honeymoon; it was Jana’s first day of college at Lancaster Bible College; and Gloria was back in school for her first day of 12th grade. Jenna planned to come if her morning with baby Jade went as planned. We were disappointed that she and Jade were not able to come.

A funny/embarrassing thing happened when I chose a small cake at Cake and Cup Bake Shoppe (next to Lititz Family Cupboard where we enjoyed breakfast) and opened my purse to pay for it.

I discovered that I left my wallet on the kitchen table when transferring it to a different pocket book. I remember saying to Diane before leaving the house: wallet, check – car keys, check – cell phone, check – camera, check. So I am not quite sure how or why I placed my wallet on the table.

Diane came to my rescue and paid for the cake and breakfast until I could repay her when we got home. 🙂

What a treat to enjoy a morning with these four wonderful ladies. It blesses a mother’s heart to be with her daughters and daughters-in-law. I took this before Kristen left to go back to work – across the driveway – at Cornerstone Family Health.

Our dessert was the birthday cake.

After we finished, I asked if any of the ladies wanted to go to see Jenna and Jade if it suited Jenna. (They don’t live far from the restaurant.) Kristen had to go back to work and Chris had wedding supplies to deliver.

Jenna seemed pleased that we would take time to visit her and three-week-old Jade.

I smile when I see Jade’s tiny arms. Dustan said they learned early that she does not like to have her arms covered. 🙂

The ladies enjoyed seeing their house – and – as we were leaving someone asked about the floor in their enclosed porch. That is why she is looking down – and we are all looking down on the last picture.

It was a great morning.
