Housewarming Party for Kim, Joanna, and Lydia

Wednesday Evening, August 22

Just before Diane and I left the house, a hummingbird came to our feeder.

The party was given by their mutual friend Janessa, and held at the cute house where Kim and Joanna live. They moved here about the same time – a few weeks ago – as our granddaughter moved from our house to a nice apartment not far from us.

It this picture Janessa, Lydia, and Joanna are preparing the food table.

I haven’t been on this property for years and just had to walk across the yard to this spot where our church held baptisms for many years. If you look closely (on the left near the steps) you can see where boards were slipped in to make the water deep enough for baptizing.

Most of us who were baptized at this farm, remember the cold, spring water. Our church still has an outside baptistry – next to our church – where the water is fairly warm.

Lydia, opening her gifts.

The little guy is Joanna’s nephew.

It was a beautiful evening to have an outside party.

Thanks, Janessa, for inviting me.
