Traveling to Ohio for the TFC Truck Rally

Thursday, July 5

There aren’t many unusual photo opportunities on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, so I just relaxed, enjoyed the familiar scenery, talked to Jeff and Diane a bit, and played a game on my Nook. We arrived in Ohio in the early afternoon.

After checking into our motel and getting familiar with the area, we went to one of our favorite eating places in Berlin – and were surprised to meet John and Lydia Schmid. John sings during the opening of the Truck Rally at Kidron. They live in the Berlin area.

We enjoy going to the Amish Country Theater. It’s fun to laugh at their silly jokes, and listen to a great ventriloquist and good bluegrass music. (The Legends Night advertisement is for a future program.)

The beautiful sky as we drove to our motel.

We stayed at the brand new Encore. Next year we will be able to attend the Amish Country Theater in their new building – to the left of the hotel. They expect to be in the new theater by the end of this month.

Another view of the Encore.

Tomorrow night I will tell you about our interesting road trip through Ohio Amish country on Friday morning and early afternoon.
